NeuroVision was set up in 2001 with a view to promoting neuro-ophthalmology in Australia, with two main aims:
- To improve clinical excellence in neuro-ophthalmic diagnosis and management in Australia.
- To foster and support research in to neuro-ophthalmological areas, with a particular focus on clinical research in Australia.
In order to achieve these aims we have established the NeuroVision Training Weekend. This is a course in neuro-ophthalmology, held over the weekend following on from the NOSA annual scientific and clinical meeting. The weekend is highly relevant to all trainees and practitioners in neurology, ophthalmology and neurosurgery, as well as optometrists and orthoptists. The attendees are those who want to learn more about the diseases commonly seen by neuro-ophthalmologists. Many trainee doctors will attend this part of the meeting as part of their examination preparation.
